The closing weekend of the 2022/23 Premier League season will be crucial in deciding the final placings of this top-flight campaign.

Manchester City have already wrapped up their fifth title in the last six seasons, with most of the European places already settled, but the relegation battle is set for a tense finale.

Leicester City, Leeds United and Everton are all potential candidates to be relegated on the last day, with rock-bottom Southampton already slipping through the trap door.

Alongside the reward of avoiding relegation, teams also receive a greater financial boost, based on how high they finish in the Premier League table.

The reward for finishing as Premier League champions is estimated to be £44m/$54.4m from the Premier League alone, with the total, including sponsorship bonuses, TV money and other payments bringing the figure closer to £150m/$186m.

The difference extends down the table, but while the gaps per position are relatively minor (£2.5m/$3.1m on average), the end figures are far greater.

For example, fifth place to fourth place is only separated by £2.2m/$2.7m in Premier League prize money, but the drop-off between qualifying for the Champions League, and not, is over 10 times that amount based on other revenue streams.
