Real Madrid and Napoli face off on Tuesday in a tantalising fixture in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The champions of Serie A, who reached the quarterfinals of last season's premier European competition, go up against their former manager in Carlo Ancelotti, who leads a star-studded Madrid outfit who are spearheaded by English sensation Jude Bellingham.

The result of this game could well determine which team tops Group C, after both Real and Napoli won their opening games.

With the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples set to host this one, it's hard to know who the favorites are. So The Sporting News looks at the betting odds, provides a prediction and previews the game here.

Napoli vs Real Madrid prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Real Madrid win (+150)
  • Score prediction: Napoli 1-2 Real Madrid

The sportsbooks are finding this game a tough one to call, given Napoli's strength in front of their home crowd but also Real Madrid's habit of grinding out hard-fought wins in the Champions League.

With Jude Bellingham in such irresistible form at the moment, bailing out Los Blancos with a late winner in their opening Champions League group game at home to Union Berlin, Ancelotti's side will be confident of getting a result in Italy.

Napoli's results have been unaffected by the saga involving Victor Osimhen and the club's social media account, which appeared to mock him. They've won 4-0 and 4-1 since that, but against higher calibre opponents, it may be a different story.

We're backing a good few goals but the 14-time European kings to come through with the three points.

Napoli vs Real Madrid best bet

    • Pick: Jude Bellingham to score first
    • Odds: +210 (FanDuel)

At just 20 years old, Bellingham is already a world superstar. He's started life at Madrid in incredible form, scoring seven goals in eight appearances.

He's proving to be more than worth the financial outlay to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth the £88.5m ($107m) fee. It's hard not to see him scoring in this game, given how much his team will need him. He's worth a punt on getting the first goal at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Napoli vs Real Madrid prop bet

    • Pick: 2-2 draw
    • Odds: +1050 (BetMGM)

If you're not so convinced by Real Madrid this season — despite the fact they sit top of La Liga with seven wins from eight matches — then the high-scoring draw is a good alternative betting option.

Napoli are certainly not a poor side, despite already being four points off the top in Serie A as they look to defend their title under new manager Rudi Garcia. Only Inter have scored more goals than the Partenopei this season and Osimhen continues to fire, despite the off-field distractions.

He's a +350 moneyline bet to grab the first goal if you don't fancy Bellingham, but the 2-2 draw at +1050  is also appealing.
