The biggest stage of the month is yet to come for Hector Herrera, but the dress rehearsal went well.
The Mexico midfielder regularly wears the captain's armband for Porto, which is preparing for Tuesday's Champions League showdown with Roma. That doesn't mean that the league leaders can forget about the domestic campaign, though. Herrera came up big in Friday's trip to take on Moreirense, scoring in stoppage time to help the team avoid defeat and stay atop the table.

Jesus "Tecatito" Corona also played 90 minutes for Sergio Conceicao's side and will hope to have an encore in the Stadio Olimpico this week.
There were a number of Mexico internationals involved in La Liga action this weekend. Nestor Araujo, as usual, played center back for Celta de Vigo this week. In a twist, the former Santos Laguna defender headed in a goal early in the contest against Getafe. However, the club's defensive issues again let it down with the second-minute goal erased by three straight scores by the home side after Maxi Gomez was sent off in the 37th minute.
A hat trick of Mexicans came into Leganes' 3-0 victory over Real Betis this weekend. Diego Lainez entered at the halftime break to try and spark some life out of Betis, which trailed 2-0. It didn't get better, even with Andres Guardado joining in the 70th minute. Diego Reyes came in as a substitute for Leganes, his second appearance since joining the club in the winter window.
Hector Moreno didn't see action in Real Sociedad's scoreless draw at Valencia.
Hirving Lozano was back in the starting XI for PSV after missing the previous week because of a head injury. Erick Gutierrez was an unused substitute. The club failed to win against Utrecht, with Lozano exiting the 2-2 draw in the second half. Despite the rare slip-up from Mark van Bommel's men, PSV got a bit of breathing room at the top of the table thanks to Ajax's loss to Heracles.
Chicharito started for West Ham in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. It was Mark Noble who scored from the spot for the Hammers, and Chicharito made way in the 68th minute. Raul Jimenez is starting for Wolves in the Monday match against Newcastle United.
Guillermo Ochoa and Standard Liege fell 2-0 to Genk on Friday.
