Man United injury news: Cavani and Varane latest image

Manchester United continue their Champions League push, as they make the trip to Elland Road to face bitter rivals Leeds United this weekend - and there looks to be some positive news on the injury front ahead of the clash.

Ralf Rangnick will be looking for his men to build on the midweek 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. The victory proved to be a much-needed boost for the Old Trafford side, following an FA Cup defeat to Middlesbrough before drawing twice with Burnley and Southampton on Premier League duty.

Undeniably, Manchester United being out of all cup competitions bar the Champions League will amplify the pressure on them finishing in the top four this season.

As that chase heats up, which men will be available come kick-off time in Yorkshire? Sporting News rounds up the latest news on Man United's current injuries below.

Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani won't be available for this weekend's clash, despite Ragnick confirming that the Uruguayan made a return to full training earlier this week.

He started the away game against Burnley nearly two weeks ago, but missed home ties against Southampton and Burnley through a groin injury.

There is a chance he could be ready for Man United's Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid next week.

Raphael Varane

Man United are set to receive a major boost ahead of the Leeds fixture, though, with Raphael Varane looking to have recovered from illness in time for the away trip.

Originally, he was included in the lineup for the Red Devils' fixture at home to Brighton, before pulling out through sickness. No doubt, his solidity would be welcomed back into the center of defense with open arms.

Tom Heaton

Third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton has picked up a knock.

It shouldn't affect Rangnick too much, though, with Dean Henderson providing cover for David De Gea on the bench.

Nemanja Matic

Ragnick has also confirmed that Nemanja Matic may come back into his thinking for the Leeds game, as the Serbian returned to training and was doing "quite well," according to the manager.

If he is not involved at Elland Road, the midfielder will almost certainly be back in contention for Atletico Madrid next week.

Eric Bailly

Eric Bailly is also rumored to at least have a chance of featuring, after recovering from an injury he sustained at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast.
