Liverpool are considering a move for £10 million-rated ($13m) Gent winger Moses Simon.

The Nigerian international has been watched closely by Reds scouts as they seek to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Goal understands that the 22-year-old, who is about to enter the final year of his contract with the Belgian club, is one of a number of targets under consideration as Jurgen Klopp seeks a pacy, multi-functional forward player.

Simon has played predominantly as a left-winger for Gent this season, but has been known to operate on the right as well.

He scored six goals in the Jupiler League this season, but was left out of Nigeria's World Cup squad due to a hip injury. He is expected to be back fit before the end of June however.

Liverpool are eager to strengthen their squad in attacking areas, with cover for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in wide areas a must. Salah, Mane and Roberto Firmino managed a remarkable 91 goals between them last season, but Klopp is keen to ensure competition and cover, which will enable him to rest, rotate and preserve his star men.

The mangaer also has decisions to make over three young wingers who spent all or part of last season on loan. Harry Wilson, Sheyi Ojo and Ryan Kent endured mixed fortunes in the Championship - and in Kent's case over in Germany - but all are expected back at the club this summer.

Rangers and Leeds, in particular, are keen on signing Kent on loan, though Liverpool will continue to insist on a deal in which clubs are punished financially if a loan player does not start a certain amount of games - Bristol City were made to pay £500,000 after signing the 21-year-old in January, after he made just six starts.

Rangers, managed of course by former Red Steven Gerrard, are also keen to sign midfielder Ovie Ejaria on loan, and have expressed interest in striker Dominic Solanke, though that deal looks some way off. There is interest from a host of clubs in Ojo, but Wilson, who impressed at Hull City in the second half of the season, will get the chance to prove himself in pre-season, with the Welshman expected to be part of the first-team squad for the three-game tour of the USA in July.

Liverpool have already been busy this summer, adding £40m midfielder Fabinho from Monaco. Naby Keita will join from RB Leipzig on July 1, while the Reds remain keen to secure a deal for Lyon's Nabil Fekir, though progress on that front has been slow with the Ligue 1 club proving difficult negotiators.
