A tribute match in honour of the late Liam Miller has already sold 38,000 tickets with organisers now expecting a sell out.
Miller, who played for a number of European clubs including Celtic and Manchester United, passed away in February at the age of 36 following a battle with cancer.
A game featuring an Ireland & Celtic XI up against a Manchester United Legends side has been organised since, with the match set to be played on September 25 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Ireland.
The 45,000-seat venue is already close to filling out over a month before the game kicks off with interest in the match described as 'phenomenal' by organisers, who pushed for the game to be held in the bigger venue.
Proceeds of the match will go towards supporting Miller's wife and three children along with a number of charities.
The Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Mick Finn, is also reportedly seeking permission for all school children in the region to receive half days in honour of the event.
Some big names are set to grace the pitch for the match with Roy Keane's coached Red Devils side set to feature Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand.
While a combined Celtic and Ireland side will have the likes of Damien Duff, Neil Lennon and Robbie Keane paying tribute.
Miller began his career with Celtic before moves to Manchester United and Sunderland. He'd later call Australia home for a number of years as he tasted A-League success with Brisbane Roar.
Born and raised in Ireland, Miller played 21 games and scored one goal for the Republic of Ireland.
