After tensions ran high throughout a London derby that ended with him and Antonio Conte at loggerheads, Thomas Tuchel might have hoped for a more sedate encounter up next for his Chelsea team.

A trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United and their ever-enthusiastic and demonstrative coach Jesse Marsch promises to be anything of the sort.

Chelsea and Leeds share a rivalry of sorts that dates back to the brutal FA Cup final clashes of 1970. Tuchel himself may have expected not to be involved directly in any confrontations this weekend, having been given a one-match ban by the FA, but that punishment has been suspended pending the release of the full written explanation behind it, which means he will be in the dugout on Sunday.

Each team has taken four points from their first two Premier League matches of the season, which represent solid returns, but both will feel they should be sitting on two wins from two.

Leeds were 2-0 up before being pegged back to a 2-2 draw at Southampton last time out, while Chelsea shared the same scoreline with Tottenham Hotspur having led twice.

Here's all you need to know about when two unbeaten records will go on the line.

Leeds United vs. Chelsea predicted lineups

Marsch selected an unchanged line-up for the first two games of the season, although Patrick Bamford's latest injury setback forced him into a first-half change at Southampton.

The England international could yet feature in the squad against his former club, with an adductor complaint not thought to be serious. Even so, Dan James looks like a good bet to start in attack alongside surprise early Golden Boot frontrunner Rodrigo Moreno, who followed up his opening-day goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers with a brace last weekend.

Leeds predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Meslier (GK) — Kristensen, Koch, Llorente, Struijk — Roca, Adams — Aaronson, Rodrigo, Harrison — James

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was handed a surprise start against Tottenham, with Reece James in defence. However, James reverted to his familiar wing-back role to score Chelsea's second goal and Tuchel might be tempted to switch to a more familiar configuration at a ground where his team won 3-0 in May.

Christian Pulisic was on the scoresheet that day but it remains to be seen whether the USA star will be involved this time around amid links with Manchester United.

Chelsea predicted lineup (3-4-3): Mendy (GK) — Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly — James, Kante, Jorginho, Cucurella — Mount, Sterling, Havertz.

Leeds United vs. Chelsea betting odds

Leeds have not scored in their two Elland Road meetings against Chelsea since their return to the top flight in 2020/21, with a goalless draw that season the only time they have avoided defeat in the most recent four encounters.

As such, a Chelsea win has the short odds you might expect.
