After a forgettable summer that has yielded one point, one goal and three defeats from four UEFA Nations League matches, England visit Italy in their final away game of the campaign knowing that another loss will guarantee relegation from League A.

Falling into the second tier of teams in the competition would ensure a less favourable draw for the Three Lions in Euro 2024 qualifying and compound a miserable run that has put manager Gareth Southgate on the defensive over his selections and tactics ahead of the Qatar World Cup.

Third-placed Italy, who beat England on penalties in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley, still have an eye on winning the group and reaching the finals in June 2023.

Here's how to watch the potentially crucial game, as well as the latest betting odds and expected teams.

Italy vs. England predicted lineups

Napoli attacker Matteo Politano is a late withdrawal from the Italy squad because he has a sprained right ankle, while captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is also out with a flexor issue.

Roberto Mancini has called up Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini and Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi in place of the pair.

Italy predicted lineup (4-3-3): Donnarumma (GK) — Di Lorenzo, Bastoni, Bonucci, Emerson — Jorginho, Barella, Tonali — Raspadori, Scamacca, Gnonto

Kalvin Phillips (shoulder) is the major absentee for England as the Manchester City midfielder recovers from an injury that has put his place at the World Cup in doubt.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (thigh) is also out and there is a doubt over midfielder Jordan Henderson's fitness because he has only just returned from injury for Liverpool.

England predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale (GK) — Walker, Dier, Maguire, Shaw — Rice, Bellingham — Saka, Grealish, Sterling — Kane
