Gerardo Martino heads back to a city where he brought so much success with his current club, looking for a big result on the road. 

The Inter Miami coach will take the Herons up the road to Atlanta, Georgia for a clash with Atlanta United on Wednesday, September 18 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kickoff is set on this mid-week evening for 7:30 p.m ET. 

This match comes in the middle of a three-match stretch in a week, starting with a home game against the Philadelphia Union and closing with a road match at New York City FC.

While Inter Miami is off to a great start in the league standings, Atlanta has been less than stellar, with just 11 points from its first nine matches. The club will need to see more from Thiago Almada, and if he leaves this summer, then they'll need Saba Lobjanidze to step up as well.

As expected, with a chance to see Lionel Messi in person, demand for tickets is skyrocketing. Fans can still find tickets under $100 though, including tickets in section 305 for just $85 per seat. On the other end, fans could pay as much as $12,136 for lower level seats. 

Messi could also wind-up playing in Mercedes-Benz Stadium earlier in the summer as Argentina opens Copa America with a match against Canada in Atlanta.

Leagues Cup

The 2024 Leagues Cup is scheduled to begin on July 26, 2024, with the final taking place on August 25, 2024.

Inter Miami has been drawn in Eastern Conference Group 3 with Liga MX sides Tigres UANL and Puebla. Inter Miami kicks off Leagues Cup action this year on July 27, in a home match against Puebla, before facing Tigres at Houston's NRG Stadium on August 3. 

The top two teams in each group advance to the Round of 16 and then a knockout-round style tournament commences. 

During the Leagues Cup, no MLS games will take place as league play pauses for the month-long competition.
