Besiktas U-16 1-5 India U-16: Vikram Pratap Singh's hat-trick propels Blue Colts to a massive win image

Vikram Pratap Singh was the star of the show as India U-16 blew away the U-16 side of Besiktas with a 5-1 scoreline in Istanbul on Saturday.

Rohit Danu (81') and Bhuvnesh (87') scored late in the game to add to Vikram's tally (3', 40', 52') and seal the deal. A late goal by their opponents was nothing more than a consolation.

India's consistent performer Vikram Pratap Singh was in fine form against the Besiktas youth side throughout the match. He found the net less than three minutes from the start when Rohit Danu's effort on goal fell to his feet. The forward made no mistake to set the ball rolling.

The Indian attackers were a constant menace to Besiktas defence and they managed to double their lead before the break. Vikram was at the right place at the right time to pick up his second goal of the day.

It only took seven minutes of the second-half for India to pop up with a third goal and Vikram would take the plaudits for that as well. The striker finished with aplomb from inside the box to put the game beyond the reach of their sluggish opponents.

Rohit Danu and Bhuvnesh further piled misery upon Besiktas as the game ended 5-1 in favour of the Blue Colts.

India had lost 1-2 to Oman and won 2-1 against Cameroon in their previous games on the tour of Istanbul. Bibiano Fernandes' India U-16 side are in the final stage of their preparation ahead of the AFC U-16 Championship in September.
