Liverpool are the holders of the trophy after defeating Tottenham 2-0 in the 2018-19 final, held in Madrid.

The win marked the Reds' sixth European title, and first since their famous comeback victory in Istanbul in 2005. Mo Salah opened the scoring with a second-minute penalty and Divock Origi put the game out of reach in the dying minutes as Liverpool dominated the all-English affair.

The Champions League final topped a campaign in which Liverpool had to deal with the disappointment of losing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City by a single point.
