The plaudits keep coming for Alphonso Davies.

As if it was in doubt, CONCACAF confirmed the 16-year-old as the Best Young Player at the 2017 Gold Cup on Wednesday. In addition, Davies was named to the tournament Best XI and ended up in a three-way tie for the Golden Boot as top scorer.

Davies, who made his debut for Canada's full national team last month, burst onto the international scene when he scored twice against French Guiana in the tournament opener before nabbing another goal — his third of the competition — against Costa Rica in Canada's second match on July 11.

The teenager is currently in his first full season with the Vancouver Whitecaps, having signed for the MLS club as a 15-year-old in 2016.
