FC Augsburg have been unable to persuade Daniel Opare to renew his 2015 three-year contract which expires next summer. The German club are now opting to cash in on the defender who is currently attracting interest from a number of European clubs.

Among the frontrunners are Stoke City, whose manager Mark Hughes has publicly stated his desire to bring the 27-year-old to Bet365 Stadium for a reported fee of £2.5million.

Two other Premier League sides Everton and Watford have also shown interest in the Ghana international, who joined the Black Stars in 2007.

Serie A giants AC Milan, Sevilla in Spain and French club Marseille want the player as well, according to reports.

Opare kicked off his professional career at Ghanaian club Ashanti Gold in 2006. He had spells at Real Madrid Castilla and Porto, and spent four seasons at Belgian team Standard Liege.

He can play on both flanks and has scored more than 10 goals so far in his career as defender.
