The draw for the FA Cup quarterfinals took place on Sunday, March 2 after Manchester United's fifth-round clash against Fulham at Old Trafford.

Marco Silva's side silenced the Stretford End with a 4-3 victory on penalties, with Bernd Leno saving from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee after the match finished 1-1.

Manchester City stayed in the hunt for a season-salvaging piece of silverware when they came from behind to beat Liverpool's conquerors Plymouth Argyle 3-1. Cardiff City and Millwall were also Championship sides beaten away to Premier League opposition, falling at the expense of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

It means Preston North End remain as the lone non-Premier League representative, having claimed Lancashire bragging rights with a 3-0 win over Burnley. Bournemouth needed penalties to see off Wolves, while Brighton beat Newcastle 2-1 in extra time.

With no replays in the 2024/25 season, all games are settled over the course of a single game, with extra time and penalties used if necessary. VAR also came into play from the fifth rounds.
