Manchester City failed to continue their era of dominance in English football, stunned by bitter rivals Manchester United in the 2024 FA Cup final.
Pep Guardiola's team beat the Red Devils 2-1 in last season's final, but were undone by the same scoreline this season, falling short of becoming the first team to win back-to-back domestic doubles in English football history.
Man United, in turn, bagged their first FA Cup title since 2016, bringing them level atop the all-time winners list of the competition with 13 titles, one behind fellow giants Arsenal for the most of any English club.
Relentless winning means handsome income streams in modern football, yet compared to the riches on offer for Premier League wins and UEFA Champions League competition, the prize on offer in the FA Cup is akin to a drop in the ocean — City claimed £3.9 million ($4.95m) in prize money as they won the 2022/23 competition.
However, the sums for progressing through rounds can be game-changers for smaller clubs. England's most prestigious domestic cup competition can play a pivotal part in balancing the books and allowing infrastructural investment for teams in the lower divisions and non-league.
From the earliest qualifying round in 2023 to the final at Wembley in 2024, here's how much clubs received in the 2023/24 FA Cup.
