Cristiano Ronaldo was named in Roberto Martinez's Portugal squad for the October international break, when he will attempt to extend two records in his name.
Martinez included the 39-year-old and his Al Nassr teammate Otavio in his 26-man roster for the UEFA Nations League matches against Poland on October 12 and Scotland three days later.
Martinez told a media conference that he feels Ronaldo and Diogo Jota are sufficient options at centre-forward for these coming fixtures, which suggests both will see playing time.
This means the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will have the chance enhance his standing in international football, in which he is already a record-holder when it comes to goals scored and games played in the men's game.

Cristiano Ronaldo's records in international football
Ronaldo is the most-capped player in the history of men's international football. His next appearance for Portugal will be his 215th; no other man has ever reached the 200 mark.
Long-time rival Lionel Messi is in fourth place in the standings and has some way to go to catch up to Ronaldo's tally.
When it comes to goals, Ronaldo also has the edge over the Argentinian great. The former Manchester United man has scored 132 times for his country, which is comfortably ahead of the rest in men's football.
In the previous international break, Ronaldo broke the 900-goal barrier for his career, suggesting he is far from finished when it comes to setting the benchmark at this level.
