Canada has seen an improvement in their performances on the world stage in recent years, culminating in a fairytale run at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
They defeated their heavyweight neighbours USA in the semifinals and won the gold medal for the first time by defeating Sweden on penalties.
Their achievement has helped them climb to sixth in the FIFA rankings, as well as becoming one of the most highly regarded national teams in the women's game.
They will be hoping to continue their positive form at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, but do the bookmakers think they can repeat their Olympic heroics in front of the eyes of the footballing world?
The Sporting News analyses where the bookmakers are placing Canada ahead of the Women's World Cup.

2023 Women's World Cup odds
Despite their triumph in Tokyo, Canada are considered outsiders to go all the way in the 2023 Women's World Cup.
Their form in recent times has been underwhelming, most notably in a poor showing at the SheBelieves Cup in February.
Some of the stronger sides in women's football that missed the Olympics in 2020 will be present at the World Cup. The likes of Germany, France and Spain all going to be contenders Canada is going to have to deal with if they are to achieve ultimate glory.
Most major bookmakers have the USA as favourites to win an unprecedented third World Cup in a row — which would be a record for both men and women — while European champions England are also considered a strong challenger.
