Barcelona strode into Anfield on Tuesday in the Champions League semifinals up 3-0 on aggregate, meaning all it had to do to advance was not lose to Liverpool by more than three goals.
Liverpool did not have top attackers Mo Salah or Roberto Firmino in its ranks due to injury, lengthening its odds of moving on.
But after going up 3-0, striker Divock Origi capitalized on a sluggish Barcelona defense to score the decisive goal.

Origi has been in and out of the lineup since joining Liverpool in 2014, and he only started Tuesday because of injuries to fellow attackers.
This was just the fourth time a team has overturned a deficit of three or more goals from the first leg of a Champions League knockout tie to progress, according to Opta. Barcelona was also on the receiving end the last time (last season vs. Roma).
For Liverpool, though, it was yet another example of a fighting spirit in European competition.
In 2005, the Reds won the Champions League final over AC Milan on penalty kicks after falling behind 3-0. In 2016, they overturned a three-goal deficit against Borussia Dortmund to advance in the Europa League.
