Mikel Arteta will be looking to end 2023 strongly as his side host Brighton in Premier League action at the Emirates Stadium on December 17.
With a spot in the Champions League Round of 16 now confirmed for February, and no Carabao Cup commitments this month, Arteta's sole focus will be boosting Arsenal's title challenge.
After resting a host of key players for the midweek 1-1 Champions League draw away at PSV Eindhoven, Arteta will be looking to recall some fresh names, as Roberto De Zerbi's Seagulls head to north London.
The Sporting News details the latest on team news and predicted lineups for this game.
Arsenal vs Brighton lineups
With qualification for the Round of 16 already assured, Arteta was free to rotate in Eindhoven, and makes more changes ahead of this clash, restoring his big guns.
Centre-back pair William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes both start, alongside Kai Havertz, with Gabriel Martinelli back following a virus.
De Zerbi's injury list has not changed ahead of this game but Japan international Kaoru Mitoma has shaken off a minor knock and starts for the visitors.
Here's the projected starting lineups for this Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on December 17.
Arsenal starting 11
Arsenal lineup (4-3-3): Raya (GK) — White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko — Odegaard, Rice, Havertz — Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
- Injured: Vieira, Tomiyasu, Elneny, Timber, Partey.
- Suspended: None
Arteta will be hoping the rest given to certain players will have them on top form against Brighton, after Bukayo Saka, David Raya and Oleksandr Zinchenko all remained on the bench at the Phillips Stadion.
Brighton starting 11
Brighton lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Verbruggen (GK) — Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Milner — Gross, Gilmour — Adingra, Lallana, Mitoma — Ferguson
- Injured: Fati, Lamptey, Estupinan, Enciso, March, Webster (doubtful).
- Suspended: None
Key absences at full-back mean De Zerbi is fielding James Milner as an auxiliary left-back, but the starting return of Mitoma is a major boost. Pascal Gross looks set to start in defensive midfield to provide extra cover, while the return of former Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck to the bench is a welcome one.
