Jorginho's representative Jorge Santos has said “nothing can be ruled out” regarding the future of his client, admitting the Chelsea man would be open to a return to Serie A.

The Brazil-born Italy international joined Chelsea from Napoli, where he played under ex-Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, in 2018 and has two years left on his current deal.

Thomas Tuchel has a wealth of options to choose from in his engine room however, and Jorginho's agent admits the right project could see the midfielder move on from Stamford Bridge.

What has been said?

“Football is dynamic and nothing can be ruled out,” Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli“If Sarri returns to Napoli, he would make an attempt to bring Jorginho back. He is perfect for his football. I can't rule it out.

“He has two years left on his contract and is a regular starter for Italy. However, with a good project, he would be open to coming back.”

What is happening at Napoli?

Reports claim that Napoli supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis is unhappy with the team's performances and has already approached Sarri about the possibility of replacing under-fire head coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Indeed, Gattuso himself appears to be aware that his position is under threat, telling the press when asked if the upcoming Serie A clash with Juventus could be his last in the Azzurri dugout: “I don’t know, you have to ask the club.”

“The captain of the ship is me, when things go badly, they are at the expense of the captain. I can’t think of this as the penultimate or last resort, I have to work and I have to be able to trust. I’m a coach, it’s like that. I won’t be the first, nor the last, but I have the duty to try until the end.”

The Kante conundrum

N'Golo Kante is widely regarded as one of the best central midfielders in football, but new boss Tuchel has favoured a double-pivot of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in his first four Premier League matches.

The relationship between the two has seen Chelsea dominate possession, leaving many to wonder whether Kante will be able to dethrone either of the pair in the centre of the pitch.

For now, however, it appears that Sarri favourite Jorginho is very much part of Tuchel's plans.
