The announcement that Saturday's Wales vs. Scotland match has been postponed means that the entire slate of weekend fixtures in the 2020 Six Nations championship have been put on hold amid the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Friday's announcement came less than 24 hours before the match was set to kick off at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. It follows earlier postponements of the weekend's other round 5 matches — Italy vs. England and France vs. Ieland.

"The Welsh Rugby Union has maintained an open dialogue with, and continued to seek advice and direction from, the Welsh Assembly and other stakeholders, including the Six Nations, on this fast-moving issue," read a statement from the WRU. "Whilst medical advice remains consistent, we have decided that it is in the best interests of supporters, players and staff to fall in line with recent measures taken across the UK and global sports industries."

The postponement of this weekend's games follows the indefinite delay of the round 4 match between Ireland and Italy. Organizers of the Six Nations have not announced if or when the games will be rescheduled.
