The Seattle Storm have returned to the mountaintop.

With a 92-59 win over the Las Vegas Aces in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, the Storm have won the fourth WNBA title in franchise history by virtue of a a 3-0 sweep.

Breanna Stewart, who led the way for Seattle with 26 points (on 10-for-14 shooting), four assists and four rebounds was named Finals MVP for the second time in her career with averages of 28.3 points (on 63% shooting) and 7.7 rebounds for the series. After missing the 2019 season with a torn Achilles sufferred while playing in Europe, Stewart completes her comeback season on top.

It's also the fourth title for future Hall of Famer Sue Bird, who made her WNBA debut with the Storm in 2002. Bird's resume is now among the best in all of basketball: 2x NCAA Champion, 4x Gold Medalist, 5x EuroLeague Champion, 11x WNBA All-Star and now, a 4x WNBA Champ.

10 days ahead of her 40th birthday, it's unclear whether or not this is the last we'll see of Bird on the floor but it is a great time to reflect on a legendary pro career that has spanned three decades.

Jewell Loyd was Seattle's second-leading scorer with 19 points (on 9-for-18 shooting) and nine rebounds while Jordin Canada added 15 points (on 7-for-12 shooting) off of the bench.

League MVP A'ja Wilson led the way for the Aces with 18 points (14 of which came in the first quarter), six rebounds and four assists but ultimately, it wasn't enough.

That Las Vegas made it to this point after Aussie Liz Cambage opted out of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kelsey Plum missed the entire season with an Achilles injury and Sixth Woman of the Year Dearica Hamby was forced to miss the Finals due to injury, is an encouraging prospect for the franchise's future.

Now that the 2020 WNBA season is officially a wrap, plenty of credit is owed to those that made the "Wubble" possible at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.

The year ended on a historic note.
