Real Madrid caretaker coach Santiago Solari refused to be drawn on his future, saying his focus was simply on his team's next game.

Solari made it three wins in a row, all three while keeping clean sheets , since taking charge as Madrid thrashed Viktoria Plzen 5-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Karim Benzema hit topped the 200-goal mark for the club in the victory, scoring twice in the contest, while Casemiro, Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos all found the net for the Liga giants.

It was the biggest win ever for a Spanish side away to a Czech club in European competition, and while he remains in a caretaker capacity at the helm, Solari was unwilling to be drawn into discussing his future.

"I can only think about the next game. Like I said before, I can only see the next link in the chain. I don't think that's wrong," he told a news conference.

"Football is an immediate game, so the most important thing is the next game. Before today, the most important game was this one.

"We passed very well and the players were fantastic. From now, the most important game is the next one. It's a cliche, but that's how it is.

"We must be focused and recover from this game so we can focus on the weekend's game."

The turnaround under Solari has been quick and, though the 42-year-old says all credit should go to the players, Madrid seem to be hitting their stride under the Argentine.

Following Wednesday's win Madrid sit level with Roma at the top of Champions League Group G on nine points.

The club still face an uphill climb in La Liga, where they sit on 17 points, seven behind league leaders Barcelona.

Solari's side will be hoping to keep their hot streak going against Celta on Sunday ahead of the international break, but the club will not be back at home for nearly a month.

Following the break Los Blancos face another road test Eibar in league play before a daunting trip to Rome in the Champions League.

They will finally return home on the first day of December to take on Valencia.
