Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold is enjoying Arne Slot's blunt approach to helping his defensive development at Anfield.
Alexander-Arnold has evolved into on the best attacking full backs in world football during his rise from academy prospect to first team stalwart on Merseyside.
An assist for Luis Diaz in Liverpool's 3-0 weekend Premier League win over Bournemouth brings him up to 63 in the EPL, level with teammate Andy Robertson, as the joint-highest for a defender in the competition's history.

However, despite showing signs of overall improvement, his defensive game continues to split opinion, with Slot honing in on what can be improved.
"We agreed he would be harsh on me, anytime an attacker got by me, he would call it out in meetings and individual meetings and say this can’t happen," Alexander-Arnold stated after the Bournemouth win.
"We go through every game together, our highlights, and where he wants me to improve. Even the AC Milan game, we had about 20 clips going through what I could have done better and good parts as well.
"It’s refreshing to have a manager that helps and guides and teaches me how to be better as a player. I’m someone who wants to learn, someone who wants to be the best, and someone who strives to be the best-ever."
Trent Alexander-Arnold Liverpool transfer latest
A positive outlook on Slot's approach will increase confidence amongst Liverpool fans that Alexander-Arnold will sign a contract extension at his boyhood club.
However, the 25-year-old has been non-committal on the situation so far, indicating that winning trophies will be the decisive factor on where he plays his football in 2025.
His current deal expires at the end of the 2024/25 season and his two choices lie between an extension at Liverpool or a potential free transfer offer from Real Madrid.
