Tottenham are reportedly looking to edge out two Premier League rivals in the race to sign Canada international Jonathan David in 2025.
Ange Postecoglou invested heavily in his squad ahead 2024/25 campaign, with Spurs back in the UEFA Europa League this season, including a £55m ($71m) club-record deal to sign England international Solanke from Bournemouth in August.
However, due to a packed schedule, Postecoglou is expected to dip back into the market in January, and again next summer.

Spurs are long-term admirers of David and reports in Italy claim he is closer to an EPL move than a switch to Serie A due to their greater ability to match his salary demands.
Juventus are rumoured to be the Italian side monitoring his progress with Arsenal and Newcastle United also interested.
Tottenham transfer links to Jonathan David
As per a previous report from Football Insider, Spurs were in "daily contact" with David's representatives over a potential summer move, but nothing concrete emerged.
Lille club president Olivier Letang hinted at the French club being willing to sell David, who is into the final year of his contract in France, with £25m ($32m) suggested as a possible asking price.
That could be reduced by 50% in January as Lille eye their final chance to bring in a transfer fee.
Lille bought the 24-year-old from Belgian side Gent in 2020, and his goal rate remains impressive, with 43 league goals in the last two full seasons.
