Shearer tells three Spurs stars to help Solanke find his form and start scoring image

Tottenham Hotspur may have had a shaky start to the season, but Alan Shearer has a clear message: their big-money signing Dominic Solanke needs some serious help—and fast.

After a massive £65 million ($86m) transfer from Bournemouth, Solanke is yet to find the back of the net for Spurs, and the fans are starting to get restless.

Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time top scorer, knows all too well how tough it can be for a striker struggling for form.

“Once Solanke gets that first goal, it’ll be a huge relief,” said Shearer, adding, “It doesn’t matter how it comes, he just needs one to get going.”

Which Spurs stars need to step up to help Solanke?

With Solanke still finding his feet, Shearer believes it’s up to Spurs’ key players like Heung-min Son, James Maddison, and Brennan Johnson to carry the weight in the meantime.

As a Betfair ambassador, Shearer mentioned, “Maddison and Son need to take more responsibility while Solanke isn’t at full speed yet.” He’s confident the goals will come, but it won’t hurt if Solanke’s teammates chip in with some magic of their own.

The former England captain also backed head coach Ange Postecoglou, urging Spurs to stick with him despite the bumpy start to the campaign.

Postecoglou's tactics, which include a high defensive line and an attacking full-back system, have drawn some criticism, but Shearer says patience is key. "Ange’s style worked wonders last season, and it’ll come good again," he assured the fans.

With Tottenham still looking for their rhythm, Shearer’s advice might just be the key to turning their season around.
