Matthijs de Ligt has opened up on the reason behind his decision to join Premier League giants Manchester United this summer.
The Dutch star made the switch from Munich to Manchester in August after the Red Devils completed a £38m ($50m) move for the 25-year-old.
The switch to United is seen as a make-or-break situation for de Ligt, as the third mega-money transfer of his career, after swapping Ajax for Juventus before moving on to Bayern Munich in 2022.

De Ligt made his first EPL start for United in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool before the international break as he looks to get up to speed in Erik ten Hag's team.
The pair previously worked together at Ajax, and de Ligt admitted the 'ten Hag factor' played a role in his decision to join the club but it was not his main motivator.
"I'm already settled in Manchester and enjoying myself. The boys are great, everything was handled perfectly. There's also many Dutch guys on the staff", he told an interview with Dutch outlet Vandaag Inside.
"Also because I stay in the picture [for the national team]. The Premier League has more viewers, and the Bundesliga has less.
"Erik ten Hag is not the only reason I joined United. We're talking about Manchester United here, one of the biggest clubs in the world. There's lots of pressure because the fans are used to things from the past. It's up to us to be as good as possible."
De Ligt's comments will be music to United fans ears as they prepare for their return to EPL action, after one win in the opening three games of the season, away at winless Southampton on September 14.
