Everton are reportedly considering a bold move to bring David Moyes back to the club after more than nine years away from Goodison Park.

The Toffees have endured a miserable start to the Premier League season with three successive defeats including throwing away a two-goal lead in the final minutes against Bournemouth.

Everton conceded in the 87th, 92nd and 96th minutes against the Cherries, to ramp up the pressure on Sean Dyche, as they sit bottom of the EPL table during the international break.

Dyche replaced Frank Lampard as Everton boss in January 2023 and successfully steered the club away from relegation in the following two seasons, despite the clubs suffering points deductions for financial breaches in both campaigns.

However, fan frustration has risen in recent weeks, and the club are rumoured to be considering a shock move to replace him with Moyes.

An exclusive report from Football Insider claims figures within the Everton hierarchy are keen on a Moyes reunion as they believe he is better suited to drive the team up the table than Dyche.

Moyes led Everton to their highest-ever EPL finish in 2004/05, as they qualified for the UEFA Champions League playoffs, and he won the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League with West Ham United.

The Scottish coach led Everton for over 500 games in his previous spell in charge, from March 2002 to June 2013, before accepting Manchester United's offer to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

Moyes is third on the all-time list of games as an EPL manager (697), in behind Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, but he is currently looking for a new challenge after leaving Hammers in June.
