Erling Haaland will captain Norway for the first time in his career this month as confirmed by national team boss Stale Solbakken.
The Manchester City star Haaland has been called up for Norway's two UEFA Nations League games, at home to Slovenia on October 10, and away in Austria three days later.
Solbakken confirmed regular captain Martin Odegaard is not ready to return after suffering an ankle injury on international duty in September.

Odegaard's injury setback caused frustration back at Arsenal with Mikel Arteta uncertain over when his skipper will return to club action.
Following his appointment as captain in March 2021, Odegaard has led Norway in the majority of their games, with Fulham's Sander Berge covering as needed - but Haaland will take the armband this time.

Despite never captaining his national team before, Haaland has been sensational for Norway, since his senior debut in 2019.
The City marksman has a superb record of 32 goals in 35 international games for the Nordic nation, That places him at second on the all-time scorer list, behind Jorgen Juve on 33.
Former Manchester United striker-turned-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is joint sixth on the list with 23.
