Erik ten Hag trophies won: Career titles for Manchester United and Ajax as Old Trafford sack rumours continue image

Erik ten Hag's future as manager of Manchester United may be up in the air once again, but he was as jubilant as the fans inside Wembley Stadium on May 25 as he celebrated his side winning the FA Cup final.

Ten Hag led the club to their worst finish in Premier League history as they ended the 2023/24 season in eighth place and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League group stages.

During this horror campaign, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS took over sporting control of the club, throwing the Dutchman's position into question. The FA Cup final, however, provided Ten Hag the opportunity to win back-to-back domestic trophies in his first two seasons in charge. Not too bad, right?

Well, that's certainly how those above him viewed things. After a "season review" spanning the best part of three weeks, it was confirmed in June that Ten Hag would be staying on as manager, despite intense speculation that United's decision-makers had been in talks with potential replacements.

And on July 4 he signed an extended contract with United, with a new deal set to run at least until June 2026.

I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined.

However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles. — Erik ten Hag on his contract extension at Man Utd.

However, his prospects of seeing out 2024/25 and having the chance to add more silverware are already looking bleak. Ten Hag entered the October international break with United languishing in 14th in the Premier League following heavy home losses to Liverpool and Tottenham. They are also winless in the UEFA Europa League and a meeting of the Old Trafford hierarchy on October 8 was expected to be a key moment in the club's immediate future.

Against that backdrop, The Sporting News takes a look at the 54-year-old's managerial record and trophies won.

What trophies has Ten Hag won?

During his coaching career to date, Erik ten Hag has won eight trophies.

His first was the 2018/19 KNVB Cup, when his Ajax side beat Willem II 4-0 in the final. They went on to lift the Eredivisie title in the same season.

Ten Hag then won the Dutch Super Cup, another KNVB Cup and two more league titles during his time in Amsterdam.

He left Ajax for Manchester United in 2022 at a time when the English giants were five years without a trophy.

United reached the Carabao Cup final and Ten Hag put an end to the drought as they beat Newcastle United 2-0 at Wembley. Doing so made Ten Hag just the second manager in United's history to reach a final in his debut season.

He then masterminded United's 2-1 win over Man City in the 2024 FA Cup to deny the Premier League champions a "double-double".
