Chelsea pair Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke have been called up for England's two UEFA Nations League games in September against the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Interim head coach Lee Carsley will be hoping for a strong start as Three Lions boss after taking temporary charge of the senior team following Gareth Southgate's departure.

Southgate opted to step down following defeat in the final of Euro 2024 and Carsley will lead the team until the end of 2025 when a decision on a permanent successor is expected.

Colwill and Madueke are part of nine squad changes from the Euro 2024 panel with the latter earning his first-ever senior call up.

Madueke netted a superb hat trick in Chelsea's 6-2 Premier League weekend win at Wolves and both players was part of Carsley's U21 England team who won the U21 European Championship in 2023.

Colwill made his sole senior England appearance in a 2023 friendly against Australia but he was not selected for Euro 2024.

Cole Palmer has retained his place in the squad, with the playmaker providing all three assists for Madueke's weekend goals, and former Blues star Conor Gallagher is also involved following his move to Atletico Madrid.

England take on Ireland, who are also under a new manager in Heimir Hallgrimsson, in Dublin on September 7 before hosing Finland at Wembley on September 10.
