Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu had a typically bullish response on his side's 1-0 Premier League derby defeat to Arsenal.

Spurs' issues over defending set pieces proved to be their undoing again as Gabriel Magalhaes headed home Bukayo Saka's second-half corner to clinch a win for Mikel Arteta.

Victory on the other side of North London means three successive away wins for Arteta at Spurs and Postecoglu has now failed to beat his opposite number in three meetings.

The contest was a real battle, with chances offered up at both ends, but it was Arsenal who seized the initiative once again.

Tottenham ended the game with the greater share of possession (64% vs. 36%), plus 15 shots compared to seven, and more touches in the opposition box with 29 to 23.

However, the all-important statistic went in Arsenal's favour, and Postecoglu conceded his team switched off at the vital moment, and Arsenal took full advantage.

"I thought it was a tight game. we controlled it for the most part and got off to a good start. We didn't capitalise on the opportunities and were unable to get on top of them", as per quotes from BBC Sport.

"We lost concentration [for the goal]. We've got some big guys who really attack the ball and we just switched off for a second.

"It's been the story of our season so far, we played in their half and created chances, but lack a bit of belief in the final third."

Tottenham will ned to regroup quickly, following a second successive EPL loss, as they head to Coventry City in midweek Carabao Cup action, before hosting Brentford in the Premier League on September 21
