Aduana Stars captain Godfred Saka has confirmed reports that there are possibilities of him leaving the club ahead of the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League season.

The 29-year-old joined the Fire Club in 2009 from Right to Dream Academy and has since been a regular in the first team, winning two league titles in the process but believes it's time to face new challenges elsewhere.

"I have been at Aduana for the past eight seasons, and as you know, it is the dream of every player to embrace new challenges, which I'm looking forward to," Saka told Graphic Sports.

"It will be a dream come true should I finally move out of the country to play and is my preferred choice but we still have to wait and see what happens with negotiations," he added.

Saka played a handful of matches last season after picking up a troublesome knee injury in one of their away games. In his absence, Sam Adams filled the void, as they continued their fine form to lift the trophy with a game to spare.

Goal understands that Saka has only a year left on his contract.
