If you've ever taken a hike before — yes, a literal one — you know how tough and demanding it can be on your body.

If you've stopped halfway through and contemplated ending the trek up the mountain there and returning to the bottom, don't feel bad because even one of the most prolific athlete in the world struggled.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Jimmy Butler visited Vancouver back in May of last year and took on the challenge of hiking up Stawamus Chief in Squamish, which is about an hour outside of Vancouver.

It was Butler's first hike, and he vlogged about it on his YouTube channel.

Butler spent the first part of the video preparing for his first hike by buying a ton of equipment that he probably didn't need.

The All-Star forward then spends time trash talking his friends about who could get up the mountain the fastest. In the end, Butler and his troops did indeed make it up the mountain — a journey that supposedly takes two-hours to complete.

Despite conquering the mountain, Butler somewhat conceded defeat to one of nature's wonders.

“I didn’t think it was going to be like that," Butler said in the vlog. "I just though like yo, it’s just going to be a trail that was going up through the mountain.

“So I was like, ‘It can’t be that bad.’ Little did I know, I was wrong.”

Having had my first hike in Vancouver this past summer, I felt Jimmy's pain all the way through.

The mountains ... they're no joke.
