A pair of Canadian women’s swimmers earned silver medals at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships on Saturday.
Kayla Sanchez and Faith Knelson placed second in the 200m medley and 100m breaststroke respectively, in Indianapolis to finish on the podium.

Sanchez won her heat earlier in the day before posting a time of 2:12:64 in the 200m medley final. She finished .22 seconds behind Miku Kojima, who captured the gold.

Knelson registered the fastest time in the 100m breaststroke semifinals on Friday. But, one day later, her time of 1:07:47 was .37 seconds slower than winner Mona Lucille McSharry.

Rebecca Smith also took home a medal for Canada on Saturday afternoon. She earned bronze in the 50-meter butterfly after recording a time of 26.22.
Meanwhile, Jade Hannah’s time of 28.04 in the 50m backstroke semifinals was the fastest of all competitors. But, she just missed medaling in the finals, placing fourth.
Canada has totaled 10 medals, including three golds, at the World Junior Championships, which will conclude on Monday.
