Canada remained winless in women's curling at the 2018 Winter Olympics, losing its third straight match in heartbreaking fashion to Denmark 9-8 in an extra end early Friday morning.
"I'm kind of at a loss for words in this moment," coach Adam Kinsgbury said after the loss, according to CBC. "I feel terrible for skipper. I've watched [Homan] play for so long now. Those things happen. I get it. You miss shots — but in this stage, in this moment, in a critical spot, to have a miss like that, she's going to feel devastated."
After falling to Korea and Sweden, it looked as though Rachel Homan's rink was going to rebound against the Danes as the Canadians jumped out to an early 2-0 lead.
The Danes responded with four straight points, but Homan made a double for four in the fifth end, swinging the momentum in Canada's favor heading into the break.

Welcome back Rachel Homan. FOUR for Canada.
Whoa. They lead 6-4 at the break. #cbccurl @CBCOlympics
Canada could never get far enough ahead though, as the resilient Danes tied things in the sixth and overcame a two-point deficit in the final frame to force an extra end at 8-8.
Homan had a chance to win the game in the extra session, but couldn't come through to give Canada its first win in round robin play.
