At 40-years-old, Vince Carter is the oldest player in the NBA.

Carter, who currently on the Sacramento Kings, first played for the Toronto Raptors. While he's played for seven differnet teams across the league, Carter hasn't forgotten about where he got his start.

In a recent interview with Marc Spears of The Undefeated, Carter said he hopes to see his number hanging in the rafters at the Air Canada Centre someday.

“Of course, I’d like for (the Raptors) to retire my jersey,” Carter said. “You’d always like your jersey retired. That is where it’s started. There have been talks about it. People talk about it, and I’m very thankful for it.

"But for me, I try my best not to think about it because I am still of service in this league. At the end of the day, every player’s end result is to see their jersey hanging in the rafters somewhere. That is where it started. Hopefully I will get that opportunity."

Carter played for the Raptors from 1998-2004, and was a six-time NBA All-Star in Toronto. He is credited with building the franchise, which was founded just three years prior, and became a fan-favorite not just in Toronto but in the NBA.
