Canada has claimed the Spengler Cup for the third consecutive year.

Wishful thinking: How the 2018 Olympics might've looked with NHL players

The Canadians defeated Switzerland 3-0 on Sunday to win the annual tournament, which this year Hockey Canada used as a final evaluation period to set its roster ahead of the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Zack Boychuk, Maxime Noreau and David McIntyre each scored for Canada, while goaltender Kevin Poulin made 36 saves to earn the shutout victory.

Heading into Sunday's final, Switzerland was the only other undefeated team in the tournament. The Swiss and Canadians each went 3-0 on their respective roads to the championship game.

Hockey Canada is expected to finalize its Olympic roster Jan. 11 before the Winter Games start Feb. 9.
