It was his second walk-off grand slam in four games and helped the Jays overcome a six-run deficit in the final frame. On Thursday, his grand slam in the bottom of the tenth broke a 4-4 tie and helped the Jays secure a four-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics.
His heroics against the Angels came with the Jays two outs away from losing by a big margin again on a Sunday. In three of their previous Sunday games, they had lost 8-1 at the Indians, 19-1 vs. Houston and 15-1 against the Red Sox.

Down 10-4 to the Angels, Toronto got a two-run homer by Kevin Pillar to start the ninth, followed by a Rob Refsnyder ground-rule double that chased Brook Pounders and brought on Bud Norris. He gave up two singles before getting Justin Smoak to ground out. He walked Kendrys Morales on a full count to load the bases and then watched a 2-0 offering to Pearce get hammered to left.
