St-Pierre, Bisping showdown back on; expected to take place Nov. 4 in NYC image

Weeks after saying the ship had sailed on a highly anticipated Georges St-Pierre comeback bout against Michael Bisping, UFC president Dana White reversed course Saturday night after UFC 214 and said the fight will happen. On Sunday it was confirmed that it will take place in November at Madison Square Garden.

“Yup. There you go. Because I know Michael Bisping will fight. Michael Bisping will show up and actually fight,” White said in the post-fight news conference. “So yeah, we will give it to him. The ship turned around and f------ sailed back.”

Once the face of UFC, he has laid low in MMA circles since his last fight, a controversial decision over Johny Hendricks way back in November 2013. He later vacated the UFC welterweight title. St-Pierre had said on social media earlier this year that he had plans to take on Bisping sometime in the fall.

"Mr. Bisping, I cleared my entire schedule to get ready for training camp after this summer," St-Pierre said in a video posted on his Instagram in May. "So I can fight you any time after October. Pick the date. Let's get it on."

St-Pierre ostensibly plans to use the summer to put on pounds to move up to Bisping's middleweight class.
