British Open 2017: Live leaderboard, updates from Round 1 at Royal Birkdale image

The 2017 British Open tees off super-early — or super-late, depending on how/where you look at it.

Round 1 of The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England, tees off at 1:35 a.m. ET in the U.S., so it will be either very early Thursday morning on the east coast or very late Wednesday night on the west coast, or somewhere in between if you're somewhere in between.

MORE: Odds to win The Open

No worries, Sporting News will be covering all The Open action whether you're catching up in the morning or following along at work, so check out our live leaderboard and updates below. Though Rory McIlroy says Rory McIlroy will win The Open, we're pulling for defending champ Henrik Stenson after he vowed to skydive with the Claret Jug if he won again this week.
