Ricky Ray was already having a bad night. Then it got worse.
The Toronto Argonauts' quarterback was fighting an uphill battle against a dominant Calgary Stampeders team on Thursday, only for his night to be ended prematurely through injury. One day after the game, reports indicate that Ray is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a separated AC joint in his shoulder.

With just over three minutes left in the third quarter and the game at 34-10 in favour of the visitors, Ray was sacked by Michael Kashak and jammed his shoulder. To make matters worse, Ray fumbled the ball on the play; although the Argos kept possession due to a penalty.

Ray immediately went off the field for treatment, and, after throwing one pass on the sidelines, retreated to the bench before being shut down for the rest of the game. The 37-year-old finished the contest with 139 yards passing, one touchdown pass, and one interception.
Cody Fajardo took over quarterbacking duties for the rest of the game, which Calgary won 41-24.
