What is the time difference in Paris?
The time difference can be a major factor for those looking to watch the Olympic Games. Luckily, those in the Eastern time zone aren't battling as brutal of a difference this year. Paris is six hours ahead of EST, and it's nine hours ahead of the Pacific time.
It was a 13- and 16-hour difference, respectively, during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. The 2024 Games will be much easier for U.S. fans to watch live without messing up their sleep schedules.
How much did the Olympics cost?
While it's an honor to host the Olympic Games, it's a pricey responsibility. Paris is expected to pay about $9.7 billion to prepare the city for the many events.
It's a lower number from previous years, as Tokyo (2021) and Rio (2016) each cost about $13 billion. Neither turned a profit. The Paris Olympics organizing committee CEO Etienne Thobois said the city wouldn't overspend this year.
"Everyone has been conscious of every euro that is spent — that it is useful — and we should be careful not to spend any euros on things that are superficial," Thobois said. "Frankly, that is a challenge in itself."
