The Jamaican bobsled team is back at the Winter Olympics, 34 years after the Caribbean nation's four-man team became an international sensation at the 1988 Calgary Games.
That unlikely story spawned a Disney movie, 1993's "Cool Runnings," and marked the start of four consecutive Olympic appearances for the four-man team piloted by Dudley Stokes, highlighted by an impressive 14th-place finish at the 1994 Lillehammer Games.

Though Jamaica has sent other bobsled teams to subsequent Olympics, the iconic four-man sled is back in action in Beijing for the first time since the 1998 Games in Nagano.

Four-man bobsled
Pilot Shanwayne Stephens and brakemen Ashley Watson, Rolando Reid and Matthew Wekpe competed in the four-man event. They were 28th — and last — after their third run and were eliminated.

They needed to reach the top 20 for a place in the fourth and final heat. They finished 4.55 seconds behind the 20th-place team.

Two-man bobsled
Stephens and Nimroy Turgott raced in the two-man competition in Beijing, finishing 30th in the 30-team field.

Women's monobob
Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian, a New Jersey-born veteran of the two-woman event at the 2014 and 2018 Games, represented Jamaica in the Olympic debut of the monobob.
She finished 19th in the 20-woman field, more than nine seconds behind gold medalist Kaillie Humphries of Team USA.
