Team Canada's quest for a fourth gold medal since 2002 begins on Thursday as they take on reigning silver medalists Germany as one of the first matchups of the men's hockey portion of the 2022 Olympics.
Similar to 2018, the NHL didn't send any players to the Olympics this year, meaning there could be some unlikely Olympic heroes this year in Beijing.

Of the 25 Canadians on the roster, the most prominent names are captain Eric Staal, who's a five-time NHL All-Star game honoree and has over 1,000 points as well as last year's first overall pick Owen Power in a mix of youth and experience.
The men's hockey tournament is getting underway while the women have been playing since before the opening ceremonies
