It was never going to live up to the hype of their first encounter, but the Oklahoma City Thunder got one back as they downed the San Antonio Spurs 122-112 at home on Saturday.

After their thrilling double-overtime game of the year clash on Thursday, the teams met once again with the game this time being decided in regulation.

The Spurs jumped out to an early eight-point advantage after the first term, but a big third quarter from the Thunder saw them steal the momentum.

Russell Westbrook finished just shy of recording another triple-double, leading the way with 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

His running mate Paul George pitched in with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as they moved to 26-16 on the season and back into fourth place in the West.

Marco Belinelli paced the Spurs offensively off the bench as he dropped 24 points in only 22 minutes of playing time. After his 56-point outburst, LaMarcus Aldridge was held in check by the Thunder defense, registering only 17 points and nine rebounds.

The loss drops the Spurs to 25-19 on the season and to seventh place in the West, just ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Oklahoma will travel to Atlanta for a meeting with the Hawks on Tuesday while the Spurs will host the Hornets on Monday.
