Just moments after Canada gave up a power-play goal to Russia to open the scoring in Sunday's 2020 IIHF World Juniors gold medal game, Dylan Cozens scored the equalizer.
The Russians were beneficiaries of several power plays throughout the first half of the game as the Canadians struggled to play a disciplined game and it eventually cost them. On the fifth penalty by the Canadians, Nikita Alexandrov tipped a shot past netminder Joel Hofer for a 1-0 Russia lead at the midway mark of the second period.

However, the Canadians didn't trail for long as they took advantage of a rare two-minute 5-on-3 situation to tie things up just over a minute later through Cozens. Sitting at the far post, the Buffalo Sabres prospect was left alone and buried the loose puck to tie things up.

Unfortunately for the Canadians, Russia regained the lead as Grigori Denisenko poked the puck past Hofer in a goalmouth scramble with 5:13 remaining in the middle frame. However, Canada mounted a furious comeback in the third period to defeat the Russians 4-3 and claim gold.
