It's been a good stretch as of late for Winnipeg.

The Jets are fresh off a 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars on Monday behind a pair of Mark Scheifele goals. When they head to T-Mobile Arena on Friday to take on the Golden Knights for the first time this season, they'll do so looking for their fifth win in six games — only having fallen to the Canadiens in overtime.

The Golden Knights, on the other hand, are in dire need of a win. They return home after a six-game east coast road trip in which they went just 1-4-1, having only beat the Ottawa Senators 5-4 last Saturday.

And, they recently lost Vladim Shipachyov, who became the first player to retire with the Golden Knights this week. The center made the decision to return to Russia, where he'll be eligible to play in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Yet getting a win after a struggling road trip will be tough task against the Jets — a team Vegas coach Gerard Gallant said is playing fantastic hockey right now.

"I think they’re one of the great teams right now. They’re playing a hard game. They play a heavy game, they've got a lot of young skill and young talent," Gallant said, via the Winnipeg Free Press. "When you watch Winnipeg on TV, I mean they started the year real tough. But right now, watching them play you know what they’re going to bring. They have some great skill, great talent."
