Henrik and Daniel Sedin are forever entrenched in Vancouver Canucks history as the team's all-time scoring leaders, and on Wednesday their lore was furthered as the club retired their jerseys.
The ceremony took place ahead of the Canucks' meeting with the Chicago Blackhawks, with current Vancouver players donning the Sedins' jerseys for the pregame skate before the twins watched as their Nos. 22 and 33 were lifted to the rafters of Rogers Arena.
As is usual with this type of event, special guests were present and several speeches were made. Kevin Bieksa, who was a longtime teammate of the Sedins, nearly stole the show with a speech that was more of a roast at times.

Former Canucks Roberto Luongo and Ryan Kesler were also among the dignitaries invited to the ceremony, as was NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, as the franchise went all out to honor two of its greatest players.

Tonight the #Blackhawks will be wearing these decals in support of the Sedins' big night. #ThankYouSedins pic.twitter.com/fzA520TplK
I accidentally passed the Sedins as they were heading out on the ice for the ceremony. Shook hands and may have accidentally told Danny: "Don't screw it up."

He saw me in press conference after and asked: "Did I screw it up?"
No. They never did. Never have. #2233
What a night for @Canucks fans. Wish i could be there to watch the Sedin jerseys go into the rafters. Remarkable careers from 2 guys who leave a larger legacy off ice. Congrats to both henrik and daniel!

Just a tremendous ceremony. The #Sedins & @Canucks hit it out of the park. Can’t believe I was there for all 18 years.

So typical Henrik began by wishing Jay Bouwmeester well. @kbieksa3 was quite the comedian. @Ryan_Kesler was clearly moved by the crowd reaction. pic.twitter.com/KDZGOn0ryK
The Sedins' gift isn't just their talents on the ice or their class off of it.

It's their ability to magnify what's good in those around them. That includes the #Canucks organization. That includes the Vancouver crowd.
What an event. Club knocked it out of the park.
What a night. Incredible hosting job by John Shorthouse and all involved. First class ceremony. Well earned and well deserved as the Sedins numbers will now live forever in the rafters at Rogers arena. pic.twitter.com/cbV1aYZD0k

Kevin Bieksa is just straight-up roasting the Sedins at their own retirement ceremony and it’s incredible

The Sedins starting their jersey retirement speech by wishing Jay Bouwmeester a speedy recovery. These guys really are the classiest people alive
