Sonny Milano entered Tuesday with two career NHL goals and ended the day with double that amount.
The 21-year-old scored both goals for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, including a sensational overtime marker to secure the victory.
Milano gathered a loose puck deep inside his own zone and raced the length of the ice uncontested before putting a backhanded shot over Hurricanes goaltender Scott Darling's shoulder, capping off a career night for the Columbus forward.
All of Milano's four career goals have come this season, with the Massapequa, N.Y., native extending his scoring streak with Tuesday's outburst. Milano has scored in each of the Blue Jackets' first three games.
